51205 Linear Expension
Apparatus
Elongation of the rod is measured by a micrometer screw reading
to 0.01 mm. Binding posts are provided on the supports for
connecting a bell, or galvanometer for indicating the exact
point of contact of the screw. Complete with 50 cm steel rod,
but without bell or cell.

Expansion Apparatus
Fitted with two rods of 50 cm lenght of brass and iron, enclosed
in the same jacket mounted on a stand consisting of two cast end
-pieces joined by three rods. One end piece is fitted with
spherometer reading to 0.005 mm and other with contact screw.
The jacket containing the rods can be roatted on its supports,
thus enabling the expansion of these metals to be accurately
measured in the course of one and the same experiment. Terminals
are also provided by means of which contact can be determined
electrically. |
