Two heavy - walled glass cylinders 40 mm and i 15 mm i.d.
respectively both fitted with non - return valves and leather
covered pistons, pump worked by hand lever 315 mm long ratio
2:1; safety valve provided in the langer piston so that pressure
in excess of that which can safety be applied to the glass
cylinder enables the water to rise above the piston and escapes
through the overflow pipe at the top ; stop cock at base of small
cylinder for replenishing cylinder with water by rubber tubing
from beaker of water. Removeable loading platform ; placed
exacly on the platform ; wedge for breaking metal bars. Strongly
constructed and mounted on wooden base 290 x 190 mm. |
